Scratching the Itch

Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing about

--Benjamin Franklin

First and foremost, I am an old school science-fiction and fantasy fan. My personal book collection (those on my shelves and those in my eBook reader) are a testament to my geekiness.

An avid reader from an early age, I have also been a writer. Not a published author in my favorite genres but someone who enjoys tinkering with words to give life to characters and scenes, especially for some of my table top role-playing games.

For a long time I wasn't certain I had something worthwhile to contribute in writing beyond game development. Notebooks and cloud drives are filled with character studies and partially developed scenes from the last 20+ years.

Recently a friend of mine at work reminded me about the need for balance in life. With the children grown and almost on their own, now seems like a good point to delve back into creative writing.

This is where I'll post some of my work and add resources other writers could find useful. Maybe some of it will be worth reading.
